· Our Story
More than the daily grind.
Sugbo Strays wasn’t born in a shelter; it was born in the hearts of professionals who realized that life is more than just the cycle of work, sleep, and repeat. We believe that true fulfillment comes from the impact we leave behind.
As pet owners and rescuers ourselves, our team shares a common heartbeat: a deep-seated need to give back to those who ask for nothing but survival. We are pulling together individuals who share the same sentiment, driven by a commitment to transparency in everything we do.
Even in these early stages of Phase 1, we are dedicated to using our time to soften the weight of the heartbreaking issues these animals face, allowing them to feel a little more safe and a lot more loved.
The reality: life on the streets
Every day in Cebu, thousands of strays wake up to a world of uncertainty. For them, life is a grueling cycle of hunger, extreme weather, and the constant search for safety. They face the daily threat of injury and illness without a voice to ask for help. While we cannot change their past, we refuse to ignore their present.
· The Roadmap
Four phases toward a self-sustainable future.
We aren’t just “giving out food” — we are executing a strategic, data-driven roadmap to create a self-sustainable future for Cebu’s animals.
01 Phase
Active now
The Full Belly Project
We believe that a rescue shouldn’t have to be “off the streets” to be impactful. By providing consistent, high-quality nutrition to strays where they are, we are life-changing for their day-to-day survival. A full belly is the first step toward dignity.
02 Phase
Funding gate
TNR Program
Phase 2 will be unlocked once we have secured the necessary funding. Reaching this milestone simultaneously activates Phase 3.
Upon activation, we will implement aggressive Trap-Neuter-Return programs to humanely manage the stray population — the most ethical, long-term answer to overpopulation.
03 Phase
Co-activates with P2
Foster & Adoption Network
We launch our network of Local Quiet Heroes. We support these foster homes by prioritizing their rescues for medical care, providing food to alleviate their financial burden, and actively helping their strays find forever homes. When a hero takes a stray in, we ensure the animal is fully vaccinated and neutered, and supply a full month of food.
04 Phase
Long horizon
The Sanctuary
Our ultimate goal is a physical sanctuary — a place of rest and peace specifically for seniors and “unadoptable” animals who deserve to spend their remaining years in comfort and chill.
